2nd Day for Change Myself/Change The World Journey

First Day ended:

I got on the scales this morning and relaized I lost 10 pounds, but then I woke up and realized it was a dream! I thought 'Hey, I can actually do this"!  I sat down to strategize on the best diet plans, workout plans, and guides to follow. After much research, I began to realize why most diets fail.
  1. Most diets fail because people set unrealistic goals with their diet or workout regimen. I set a goal to lose at least 5 pounds each week. Just by watching my diet alone, I should be able to accomplish that. I set a 30 minute cardio and 20 minute weights, resistant bands and yoga format. That is a great place to start.
  2. While researching the diets, I noticed a lot of advice that many people just are not going to stick to because the meal plans are to restrictive or not catered to an individual. I found a great free site at http://www.naturalhealthyellowpages.com/metabolic/self_test.html which enables you to a free online metabolic profile. There is a questionnaire to answer and based on your truthful answers it will determine if you need a Carb Diet, a Protein Diet, or a mixture of both. It will show you the right portions for your plate; and recommend the right foods for you to eat a healthy balanced weight loss meal. In the south, we cut down on sodium by using more spices or low sodium Tony Catchere seasoning. That should be a great start to my weight loss plan.
  3. I spent the day making connections and researching companies for sponsorship. This weeknd I hope to have our holiday marketing plan kicked off. Youtube or VEVO videos are great for promotions as well. Professional sites such as LinkedIn, are a great way to connect with others in your field, but do not spam them.
Well, that is all the damage I could do for one day so Peace Out until tomorrow.

December 11, 2011

Sorry for the late post, as I have been fighting a severe case of strep throat since Thanksgiving, which only seems to be gettig worse, despite the second round of antibiotics.

I did manage to lose 4 more pounds, but that is from the pain in my throat and not good eating habits. But hey, we will always get better! It does not matter how many times you fail, as long as you keep trying- you will eventually get it right.

I did manage to promote the INXPO launching Jan.11. We are still looking for sponsors for this very important event.

My stepfather passed from pneumonia last week. He suffered from alzheimers. Keep us in your prayers please.

Going down for the heating pad. See ya' next week!

END OF WEEK ONE: Sunday, November 27, 2011
I managed to lose the five pound goal set, despite spending most of the week with my step-mom in the hospital, due to congestive heart failure and pnuemonia. Made it through the holidays, but had to have a peice of my southern homemade pecan pie; just a small piece. It was worth every delictable morsel; everything in moderation. If you have a craving, have a small piece and be done with it. If not, you will eat everthing around it until you get what you are craving for.
We made a couple of videos for the FACSA Foundation website, http://facsafoundationvirtualexpo.ning.com/ for instruction on How To Make A Great Video on youtube at http://youtu.be/ch5SR2ZEIgs and http://youtu.be/-WuEI7xOU2k announcing We Still Have Sponsor Booths Available for the FACSA Foundation Virtual INXPO.

Join me on my weight loss journey and for the INXPO!

Every Thanksgiving our family meets in Missouri, from across the country. This year I could not make it, but you might could call that divine intervention. I would have traveled with my eldest brother and his finance', who on the way home, hydroplaned, flipped, breaking out the back glass (which my brother tried to shield his fiance' from, with his jacket) and slid into the side of a tree, on the right side of the car. They are pretty sore and banged up, but the car is totaled. I would have been sitting on the right passenger side, in the back. Thank God I stayed home and they are alright! Life changes in the blink of an eye. Trust your intuition!
Join Me on My 30 Day Journey
I want you to follow me on a 30 day journey. I do not know what to expect or what is in store, but that is the beauty of it. I value your input and words of wisdom. Yesterday, the doctor said I need to lose weight or I will begin to take insulin. Focusing on work, family, or whatever your passion is, does not always put first on the list; so today, I am putting me first on the list so I can continue giving my best to you and all that we are going to accomplish. After working all weekend on reformatting our website at facsasavethechildren.com, today is being spent on finding sponsors for an upcoming event. So, let’s get started!
My name is Connie Lee and I am the Founder/President of the FACSA Foundation (Family and Friends Fighting Against Child Sexual Assault), in Springhill, La. We are a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) status company, and our EIN# is 26-3280565. We are an all volunteer staff. The FACSA Foundation provides support services for families of child sexual assault, such as attorney’s, counselors, support group, guidance, and what each family needs for their case. We also educate the community on prevention of child sexual assault, through our programs such as the Good Touch/Bad Touch Program from ChildHelp USA; Kid’s Safe ID Kit’s from the National Exploited Children’s Foundation; and the FACSA Defense Program, where we go to schools for free to teach teens about abusive dating relationships, warning signs, and 30 minutes of hands on self defense. I have a Bachelors of Science in Psychology; I am a public speaker and an event planner.
On  March 20 & 21, 2012, INXPO will present a nationwide live event, free for sexual assault organizations, hosted by the FACSA Foundation. An example of our INXPO presentation will look similar to this travel EXPO at  http://app.virtualtravelevents.com/VVE2011/Event.aspx?rc=home/(Top Browser bar- may have to use conniesmiles@msn.com to sign in). We anticipate 5000 attendees for the first event, but the attendance will increase as it is more publicized. We are asking sexual assault organization’s from across the nation to submit 3-5 minute videos of their organizational mission and services. They can also submit downloadable links for your virtual business cards, flyers, and brochures for their virtual booths; as well as submit art, music, poetry, crafts, wood work, metal art, and personal stories, as well.  We have a website to gather the content, that will be posted to the INXPO, at http://facsafoundationvirtualexpo.ning.com/ (you may have to put it in the top browser bar). On the day of the live event, you will be able to view the virtual live event from your computer and see organizations publicized on a national and global platform, speakers, sponsor booths, games, live Q & A chat with organizational members, and a virtual lounge to meet other attendees and participants. Nations who have joined us are Africa, Canada, Russia, Pakistan, India, and the U.K. Some speakers, from the INXPO, will join us in a nationwide speaking tour advocating prevention of sexual assault, for this event is the catalyst for changing the social stigma of child sexual assault; by uniting organizations in a personal easy to access format; by conducting research to implement in developing new state of the art programs that are easy, fun, age appropriate, learning tools; using the research to change public policies; and teaching advocacy and prevention across the nation with the “Holocaust of Innocence Tour”. We are gathering the knowledge and resources for anyone to view 24/7, 365 days a year. We will also be gathering current statistics on how sexual assault is affecting our communities across the nation, socially and economically. Currently the statistics say the direct cost of sexual assault in America costs taxpayers 24.3 billion in direct cost and 69.7 in indirect costs. We know this is incorrect because 90% of victims do not tell from fear, shame, afraid of losing their family, or the perpetrator is someone they love. The staggering cost affects our states, corporations, businesses, educational systems, welfare systems, mental health systems, and criminal justice systems; and why this program format is so important to the development of our nations and children’s future. For a visual representation of the effects of child sexual assault, we have a “Holocaust of Innocence Wall” for survivors to share their experience and place memorabilia, pictures, words, art, etc. on the wall, as we travel across the nation on the “Holocaust of Innocence Tour”, (http://theholocuastofinnocence.blogspot.com/); pictures, art, and word representation can also be emailed to facsasavethechildren@hotmail.com,  for download, printed and implemented on the Holocaust of Innocence Wall . The INXPO event site, its contents, speakers, and sponsor booths will be able to view the information until next month’s event.
If you would like to sponsor this event, please contact Connie Lee @ 318.539.2571; or email us at facsasavethexhildren.com.
We would love for you to join us on this incredible journey.
